taoisT & ancient Wisdom
Traditional Taoist wisdom comes in many forms; there are so many schools of qi-gong and healing arts it is impossible to name all of them. There is one man in particularly, and one school which has become very widely known for their contribution to the modern understanding of the sexual and spiritual healing modalities. This man is called Mantak Chia and the school is called the Universal Dao. Mantak Chia runs a school in Thailand, and has published, written, and co-authored over 70 books in his lifetime. Despite our own lineage being a different transmission than Mantak Chia’s transmission, the work all speaks to the same Taoist healing philosophies. We regularly refer to Mantak Chia’s school and his writing for fantastic references and sources of information - many of his books and videos are free and available for download online. At Golden Lotus we are less strict and methodological about the way in which we practice; more based on the body to lead the way and the breathe to take over, therefore we don’t directly teach these practices, but rather variations of Taoist practices which are customised for a more embodied, female experience. ✨
